"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another." (Galatians 5:22-26)
Which part of this resonates with you the most?

"Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there."
ReplyDeleteAs I see my struggles and the chains that could bind me in light of this truth, I see freedom and recovery. Precious Savior, He has set us free and His Spirit equips us. Thank you for this post.
I love that too, Raquel. Such a freeing image.
ReplyDeleteThe part that resonated most with me when I first read this passage was the last sentence: "Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another." It seems out of place, but it actually fits perfectly. I think especially as women, we are tempted to compare the fruit we have in our life--but the author says "no, don't do that!" A good reminder for me!
So powerful! LIke you Natalie "Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another,or be jealoous of one another" resonates with me. I'm constantly reminding myself and others through my blog that everyones path, life, appearance is different. Delight in the things that you are and embrace them. Know that God intended for us all to be special in our own ways so that we can share our gifts, and learn from others. Never be self centered about your own accomplishments, or jealous of someone else's.

I love that this passage holds something new for me each time I read it. I love that part: "There is no law against these things!" How cool!
