"Every time you feel in God’s creatures something pleasing and attractive, do not let your attention be arrested by them alone, but, passing them by, transfer your thought to God and say: 'O my God, if Thy creations are so full of beauty, delight and joy, how infinitely more full of beauty, delight and joy art Thou Thyself, Creator of all!'"

DeleteI love this. When I started looking, I actually noticed all the things that God has His hand in... The book Beauty Unframed by Elizabeth Elmers hit it all on the head... From the simplist of things like how fruit can grow from seeds of different kinds into beautiful, delicious fruit that we can eat, to things as huge as landmarks and natural phenomenon. It's incredible, all that God has done, when we just look for it
ReplyDeleteI love the quote!
ReplyDeleteA a couple of years ago I started blogging about the things I love. Since I started focusing on the beautiful things in my life, they have become so much easier to see. But mostly, and perhaps surprisingly, I see Him in the simple things. My flatmate's laugh. Tomatoes with salt. Silence. Chatter. Cute shoes. The baby rabbits all over this campus. It's there, it's just taking the time to really see it!
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I have always thought was the Holy Spirit or the reelection of it is the wind. The wind makes EVERYTHING it touches ALIVE and moving. It envelops every curve and crevice with a soft blow or a powerful 50mph winds. It brings comfort to me because it reminds me of faith, hope, and love itself because of its invisibility and its ever present existence. It seems like the wind brings the message ”God is good and He is HERE” <3 :) be blessed!
